At Braver Angels of Colorado (the local branch of a national movement), we are working to foster the skills of disagreeing with respect and listening with real curiosity.  We are not trying to change anyone's mind, but rather we seek to create better understanding and re-discover each other's humanity across political and social differences.

We believe that toxic polarization is destructive to our democracy, each of our personal senses of safety and well-being, and our society as a whole.  By each of us first looking at our own polarization and learning to come from a place of curiosity and respect in our interactions with those who disagree with us, then convening and conversing with members of all views and backgrounds, and working together where we find common ground among us, we are building a better way of doing things.
